NDSouth: Revealing Snowflakes

Winter is quickly approaching and with it comes colder weather. Of course, we're not quite so sure that calling the weather here at New Day South cold just yet would be accurate. However, it is cooling off here and so we decided that it would be fun to teach the children about some of the things that happen when you live somewhere where it really does become cold this time of year.

First up on the agenda? To learn about snow, of course!

That said, since we don't have the real stuff here to 'study' we decided to turn it into a craft. First, everyone needed a sponge of their own.

Next came the blue paint...

...and we had to make sure it covered our entire sheet.

Lulu and Hayden did a great job covering their paper, didn't they?

Noelle, on the other hand, wasn't so keen about the possibility of getting paint on her hands; so she had some assistance.

After all the painting was done, we let our pictures dry for the rest of class.

Once they did, it was time to take off the tape...

...and what was revealed underneath?

Snowflakes!

Didn't they do a great job? We think so!
